The Shalom Y’all reception, sponsored by the Jew ish Federation of Greater Char lotte, was coordinated by Jack Levinson and Ellen Waldman. The reception provided an opportunity for the newcomers to meet each other and representa tives from the various Jewish or ganizations, agencies and syna gogues in the Charlotte commu nity. A slide-show of the community’s organizations was presented for the first time. Fred Glickman and Jack Levinson pre pared the presentation. ’’The Shalom Y’all Recep tions are a wonderful way to in troduce newcomers to Charlotte,” said Jack Levinson and Roz Greenspon, Shalom Y’all Co- Chairs. The goal of Shalom Y’all is to welcome and acquaint new comers to the Jewish community through programs and services. Committee member, Ellen Waldman, secured donated re freshments for the evening,’. A special thank you to; Dilworth Coffeehouse, Food Lion (Candlewyck), the Fresh Marke , Essex Street Bagel Exchange, Pa per Town, Party City, and several Harris Teeter grocery stores (Ar boretum, Morrocroft, Providence Commons, Providence Square and Quail Comers). The Camp Shalom Preschoolers welcomed our new comers with special bookmarks and the Camp Shalom campers provided decorations for the room. Shalom Y’all gift bags were prepared by the Jewish Federation and included the Shalom Y’all bro chure of the Charlotte Jewish or ganizations and the 1994 Hadassah directory. The gift bags are avail able for all newcomers,. Please call or visit the Federation office for more information. Of GftEATER Charlotte 366-5007 Women’s Division Raises $298,000 The Women’s Division of the Jewish Federation wishes to thank all donors to the 1995 Annual Community Campaign. The women of our greater Charlotte community raised $298,000— a nine percent increase from 1994! Your contribution of time and money has created and enhanced our Jewish community. The Federation acknowledges that the success of our community campaign is through the efforts of our volunteers. The 1995 Women’s Division Campaign Cabinet included: Jill Newman, Phyllis Schiffman, Ruth Goldberg, Diane Schwartz, Stacy Miller Gorelick, Donna Lerner, Amy Marx, Cindy Fox, Alison Lemer and Stacy Levinson. Their guid ance and leadership was invalu able in organizing the campaign. The Women’s Division was most fortunate with its hardworking team of face-to-face solicitors and wishes to thank them again: Dorothy Ashendoff, Bobbi Bernstein, Shirley Fytelson, Meg Goldstein, Vicki Hopkins, Susan( Jacobs, Marlene Jacoby, Sandra L«vine, Rose Luski, Baila Pransky, Sara Schreibman, Lynne Sheffer, Rosalind Taranto, Elkie Tulman, and Emily Zimmem.
