September 6 First Friday Family Shabbat
There will be a New Member Reception at 6:30 pm for anyone who has joined the
Temple since January. The Reception will be followed by a Family Shabbat service at 7:30
during which all September birthdays will be recognized. Rabbi Sam Josephs will be the guest
speaker.
September 6, 7 & 8 The Morton G. Kramer Jewish Education
Weekend with Rabbi Samuel K. Joseph.
Rabbi Sam Joseph, Professor of Education at Hebrew Union College-Jewish
Institute of Religion is a nationally known educator and author. Join us for the fol
lowing sessions with him:
F^day, September 6 — 7:30 pm Jews and Chinese Food: An Encounter with
Jews in China Rabbi Joseph will share remarkable insights into the lessons we learn
from the Jews of China.
Saturday, September 7 - 9:00-10:30 am Adult Bible Study
The entire community is invited to study the weekly Torah portion with this
Master Teacher.

Bodies: A Jewish View of Gossip and Slander ■
Begin the period of Selichot and the High Holy Days with this meaningfii! ses

Questons: God, Death and Sex', This session will provide an opportunity to explore the
Jewish perspective on some of the most difficult Jewish issues we must explore with
our children, grandchildren and each other.

What better way to start off the new year than introducing your
child to the joys of Judaism through our Cradle Roll program? This
program, which is open to all children age 5 and under, is designed to
create a bond between your child and his or her future Jewish life.
The highlight of Temple Beth El’s Cradle Roll program is the month
ly Tot Shabbat celebration which is led by Rabbi Bennett and
includes a short service, a craft and a snack. Please mark your calen
