Dr. Kaplan will work closely with the PEJE school network for participants in the Schusterman program. The day school will utilize the cash grant and the madrich to address the stated need to find ways to accommodate special needs, academic and behavioral, within the regular classroom. This must be accomplished in a manner that does not penalize the more typical students. The challenge that CJDS identifies is hardly unique. It is an unsolved issue in many Jewish day schools. The recommendations resulting from the grant will therefore be of inter est to many other Jewish commu nities. madrikh and will help implement the suggestions.
