Charlotte, NC 28210 704-364-6400 (0) 704-841-7273 (H) Toll Free 1-888-364-6401 ext. 240 2004 Overseas Needs and Distribution Assessment (ONAD) Funding Abraham Fund Safe Schools ($15.000) Safe School is a model, which was adapted by the Israeli Police from the US and England about six years ago. It has a proven, record in fostering better learning and social atmosphere in the schools in which it has been implemented. The program improves rela tions between the Israeli police and the Arab community in Hadera; promotes coexistence, tolerance and mutual understand ing between the Jewish and Arab participants; and improves the social and physical environment of the Jewish and Arab school communities participating in the program. Areentina Welfare and Relief ($26.000) Provides critical funds for hunger and social service assis tance to the 65,000 Jews who are impoverished. Community Mission ($30.000) Provides larger subsidy for Fall 2004 community mission to Israel. Former Soviet Union (FSU) Welfare and Relief ($25.000) Provides funds for urgent needs of the elderly and social services throughout the FSU. Hadera - Etearim youth ($10.000) Empowers the Kavkazi-Israeli youth to overcome the challenges of isolation and alienation. Program provides youth with skills, self-confidence and self- respect. Neve Michael ($12.000) Providing partial funding for a new van for the Neve Michael group home for abused children in Hadera. Partnership 2000 - Hadera ($42.000) Funds available locally to pro vide resources for either airfare for non-Jewish participants to go to Israel for P2K related programs (i.e., Charlotte Police) and to absorb costs for visitors from the region (i.e,, Hadera Teens). Yemin Orde After School Program Taloiot ($15.000) Assist in funding of 300 chil dren in Hadera who are classified as being “at-risk”, suffering from lack of support, neglect or abuse. Program particularly felt by Ethiopian community. Yemin Orde Youth Village ($5.000) Provides one scholarship for one of the 22 children from Hadera for one year at the Yemin Orde Youth Village, which is just north of the region. reenspon O & Associates • Inc.
