The Charlotte Jewish News - February 2006 - Page 7 Major Gifts Event Marks Opening of 2006 Annual Campaign Sandra and Leon Levine were honored at the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte’s Major Gifts Event, which took place on Wednesday, December 14,2005 at the home of Stacy and Todd Gorelick. Major Gift co-chairs Paul Edelstein and Nicki Ostrow chose to honor the Levines for their philanthropic leadership in the Jewish Federation Annual Campaign. A beautiful tzedakah box with the following inscription was presented to them: “With gratitude to Sandra and Leon Levine for their commitment, ded ication and generosity to the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte.” Over fifty people attended the event, which featured Mark Wilf, National Campaign Chairman of United Jewish Communities, as the guest speaker. Wilf, who leads the national campaign raising close to one billion dollars annually, has long been involved in local, nation al and global efforts to ensure the welfare and vitality of the Jewish community. As the son of Holocaust survivors, Elizabeth and Joseph Wilf, he has drawn upon his parents’ experiences to become an unwaver ing advocate for the needs of the Jewish peo ple, wherever they may be.
