The Charlotte Jewish News -November 2008 - Page 24 Women’s News Every Vote Counts By Bunny Bramson, President, Charlotte Chapter of Hadassah With the 2008 presidential elec tions right around the comer, our country is buzzing with election fever. We have already witnessed unprecedented voter turnout in state primaries and an impressive number of people becoming polit ically active all across the nation. Whether concerned with the econ omy, the war in Iraq, soaring health care costs, or a host of other domestic and foreign policy issues, Americans appear more vested in this election than any other in recent memory. All elections are important and this is no exception. This fall we will be elect ing a President, the full U.S. House of Representatives, one- third of the U.S. Senate, eleven state and many other local Bunny Bramson governors, officials. With so much at stake, it is cmcial that we are all engaged in the dem ocratic process. Hadassah’s VOICE, Voter Impact through Community Education, is a non partisan voter education campaign designed to insure that you, your family and your com munity make informed decisions on this year’s key issues: U.S.-Israel relations, countering the Iranian threat, health care reform, and energy and the environ ment. Political activity is always critical to public policy gains. Today, we are increasingly aware that women’s voices do make a difference and women’s participation in the voting process can and will have a significant impact. Brave women and men struggled to gain this precious freedom and our tradition teaches us that we are responsible for speaking out and helping others in need. When you case your ballot, you advocate for all who seek jus tice. Voting is both a cherished right and a vital obligation. Your vote is a powerful responsibility. Make your voice heard. ^ GAS sm HENDRICK LEXUS Renaldo Turnbull 704.532.4535 WWW. Renaldo.Turnbull@ HENDRICKAUTO.COM Does Charlotte Chapter of Hadassah Know You Are Here?
