Kathy Manning, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Federations of North America was the guest speaker Major Gifts is an evening to honor and thank the Federation’s major donors who contribute a minimum of $10,000 per household. Their generous donations made up 71% of the entire annual cam paign in 2009. According to Linda Seigel, Major Gifts Chair, “The event was a fabulous evening. John Boyer, Executive Director, and Michael Godfrey, Museum Curator, conducted private tours of the Bechtler Collection for our major donors. Kathy Manning, who is from Greensboro and is the first woman chair of the Board of Trustees, spoke eloquently about the challenges facing the Jewish Community and how the Jewish Federations of North America is addressing those challenges.” Highlights of the evening included the personal introduc tion of Kathy Manning by Hal Levinson who reminisced about their law school days at the University of Michigan. In addition, Stacy Gorelick, Endowment Chair, told her per sonal story of her connection to the Federation, of her first gift of $50 at the age of 12, and how important it is to secure the future of our Jewish community at home and around the world by making a planned gift to the Jewish Federation. ^ Michael Godfrey, Curator of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, leads a private tour of the collection.
