Temple Israel Annual Meeting Sunday, May 6 at 10 AM temple Israel In June 2008, I began a new program for the Levine Jewish Community Center called J-Tots. This little program was for little people ages 13 months or walking. J-Tots was created to be a sister program for The Charlotte Jewish Preschool. J-Tots would provide a half day school setting for tod dlers under two years of age. One year later, I, once again, joined the CJP team as director and fol lowed my beautiful J-Totters to The Charlotte Jewish Preschool. Along with these toddlers, 41 new students entered CJP as part of our two year old program. At the end of May 2012, 72 students will have a moving on ceremony to Pre-K or Kindergarten. Among the 72 preschoolers tak ing part at the May 30 CJP com mencement service, I would like to impart the following words. Dear Abbey, Alana, Alison, Ariella, Asher, Ashley, Austin, Avery, Ben B., Ben F., Beni, Brendan, Brielle, Brooklynne, Carter, Charlie K., Charlie S., Claire, Coley, Cooper, Salton, Daniel, David, Drew, Dylan, Eliana, Ellis, Emily, Emma, Evan FI., Evan FI., Evan W., Gabrielle, Flannah, Flenry, Isabella, Jaek F., Jaek S., Jaeob E., Jaeob S., Jakob, Jeremy, Joeelyn, Joshua, Josiah, Judah, Justin A., Justin S., Lael, Lauren, Lexie, Liam, Lila, Eneas, Madelyn, Max, Maya C., Maya Z., Mia, Morgan, Nikhil, N’Shama, Parker, Raehael, Raehel, Ranen, Rebeeea, Robert, Shaan, Sophia D., Sophia R., Sophie B., Speneer, Sydney A., Sydney S., Talia, Tess, Tobias, Trey, Tristan, William, Zaehary E., and Zaehary K., I have been so fortunate to be a part of your lives this past four years. Some of you started and eould barely walk. Most of you had only a little bit of hair. Some of you eame into sehool like a ball of fire. Some of you moved from exotie loeations like California or New York. Many of you looked at your parents and said with your eyes, “Why are you leaving me in this strange plaee?” From the moment you started, I knew who you were. Your spirit shouted out all your speeialness. Many people think that CJP might not have a lot of diversity beeause we are a Jewish presehool. However, walking through our halls I notiee how your speeial spirit has made us very diverse. Our diversity took the shape of soeial butterflies, superheroes, thinkers, artists, athletes, prineess- es, engineers, lawyers, meteorolo gists, anthropologists, etymolo gists, and rabbis. Whether you started in the ones, twos, or just this year, you will always live in my heart. You gave me the opportunity to experi- enee joy in your singing, pride in your development, and love of your personality. I hope your years at CJP has taught you to love learning, live Jewishly, use positive words and aetions, always lend a hand to help anyone in need, and mostly be a good person. Sadly, you will miss your Friday CJP Shabbat program and ehallah, but know that Temple Beth El and Temple Israel is waiting for you to join the religious sehool. As you take your next step into Pre-K and Kindergarten, I will be walking behind your parents, eheeking on your development and sueeesses. Please remember, no matter how old you get and no matter what grade you are in, CJP will be standing and eheering you on, and will always be home.
