Purim in the Palace
Purim is the happiest day of the
year and is marked with ereative
eelebrations that radiate joy and
merriment for adults and ehildren.
It marks the amazing turn of
events in aneient Persia where the
evil Haman eonvineed King
Aehashverosh to annihilate all the
Jews in his empire. In a stunning
upset, Esther, the new queen of
Persia saved the day with the en-
eouragement of her eousin
Mordeehai, the leader of the Jew
ish people. Haman and his sons
were eliminated and the Jews
were given vietory.
Purim has been a yearly eele-
bration for Jews globally for thou
sands of years as it is a day of
thanksgiving and extraordinary
joy. The request of Esther and
Mordeehai to Jews of all genera
tions is to give gifts to the poor
and send food gifts to friends, to
listen to the reading of the seroll
of Esther, and enjoy a festive feast
at the end of the day.
