Bingo Event
We will onee again hold our
lively Bingo event at Temple Is
rael this year it will be held on
Sunday, Mareh 10, from
2-4 PM.
As is our tradition,
bring an unwrap gift that
ean be re-gifted as a prize.

ages will be served.

Youth Visions
Hebrew Highlights
Where does the time go? It is
hard to believe that we are about
to begin the final Hebrew High
session for 5773. This session will
be dedieated to Jewish ereativity
and inspiration. All of our elee-
tives will highlight the ingenuity
that makes our people (ineluding
our students) so speeial. Follow
ing are highlights of some of our
eourses:
Jewtunes - Students will listen
to and perform great pop tunes
written by Jewish eomposers and
roek stars. Diverse artists and
styles will be explored. The group
will share what they’ve learned in
a brief performanee at the end of
the session.
Chopped (liver) - This eooking
elass will use the format of the
popular TV show to eneourage
students to get ereative in the
kitehen. Eaeh week, the elass will
be given a basket of mystery in
gredients (one of whieh will be
traditionally Jewish),
and be ehallenged to
produee a delieious
dessert or appetizer in
less than an hour.
Israeli Expres
sions - During their
time together, the
teens will learn about
Israeli eulture, from
movies and musie to art and food.
They will explore initiatives and
traditions that will help them un
derstand the tapestry of Israeli
life. The students will be intro-
dueed to the diversity of the Is
raeli people, using a world of
eolor and sound.
Writing for Students will
be given a ehanee to express their
feelings about being Jewish in this
first ever Hebrew High writing
eleetive. Work will be submitted
to the Jewish Writing Projeet and
may appear in a national blog!
While elarifying their Jewish
identities, the students will be in-
trodueed to proper grammar,
spelling, sentenee strueture, and
figures of speeeh. This is a great
way to get a head start on SAT
prep and eollege entranee essays.
In addition to the elasses de-
seribed above, we will ereate a
Jewish ealendar (look for it to go
on sale before the new year), in
vestigate the drama of
the Tanaeh, and eon-
tinue our popular
“Hebrew for Credit”
elass. Hebrew High
will finish the year
with lots of energy,
and exeiting Jewish
learning.^
