Mike Abramson Receives
Award from North Carolina
Council on the Holocaust
The North Carolina Council on
the Holocaust presented a service
award to Michael Abramson who
has worked with the organization
for 20 years and is presently serv
ing as the chairperson. Abramson
is the son of a Holocaust survivor.
His mother, now deceased,
Gizella Abramson, spent decades
speaking to students and teachers
across the State about the dangers
of hate and intolerance. She was
taken captive by Nazis at age 10
and survived several death camps
before being liberated as a
teenager.
Mike Abramson says he wants
to continue his mother’s efforts to
make sure the Holocaust and its
11 -million victims are never for
gotten and so such evil can never
happen again. He says his mother
wanted to encourage all people to
be good citizens of the world.
Abramson is a resident of Raleigh
and a longtime member of Tem
ple Beth Or.
