munities join forees with Make-
A-Wish® to raise funds to grant
the wishes of loeal ehildren with
life-threatening medieal eondi-
tions. Among the honorees, the
woman who raises the most,
granting additional wishes, is
named the W.I.S.FI. Soeiety
Woman of the Year.
This year Sharon Laehow-
Blumberg was ehosen to be one of
the 2015 W.I.S.H Soeiety hon
orees. The W.I.S.H. Soeiety eele-
brates loeal women, reeognizing

them for their eareer sueeess, sig-
nifieant eontributions to the eom-
munity and their personal
eommitment to philanthropy.
The first time she volunteered
for Make-A-Wish® Ameriea was
baek in the early 90s right after
she moved baek to NYC from
LA. She was given the privilege
of granting a wish for a young girl
suffering the ravages of terminal
eaneer. Her wish was to meet her
musieal idol, Bobby Brown, who
at the time was with Bell Biv
Devoe.
She has been supporter ever
sinee, and her husband Mark is
also a eontributor.
Make-A-Wish® grants the
wishes of ehildren with life-
threatening medieal eonditions to
enrieh the human experienee with
hope, strength and joy. Our loeal
Charlotte ehapter grants more
than 260 wishes eaeh year at an
average eost of $6,000 per wish.
As a W.I.S.H. Soeiety Honoree,
Sharon is eollaborating with
Make-A-Wish® to adopt a loeal
