Monthly mailing $80 When QCQ was reorganized, a monthly newsletter was the only way to inform members of activities and needs. As the year progressed, more people took an interest and added their names to the list. When Q-Notes was started, it, too, was mailed to the people on the list. Now, however, the monthly mailing has been reduced to about 12 people since Q-Notes is so widely available and : ubscriptions are offered. This figure also includes some supplies, such as envelopes and stamps that will be used in 1984. The Charlotte chapter is one of the country’s most active. Some members of QCQ are also members of Charlotte SANE. The two movements have much in common since people who oppose gay/lesbian civil rights are often the same people who believe that a trillion-dollar defense budget is ali that stands between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. QCQ pays $10 monthly to use this facility. In addition to these items, over $200 has been spent preparing for the production of “Last Summer at Bluefish Cove” (see story elsewhere). MCC/Charlotte, the caucus and the switchboard, member groups of QCQ, are expected to make budget requests in the first quarter of 1984 and ailocations will be made from 1983 earnings. Another member group. Acceptance, is financially self-sufficient and does not receive funds. QCQers are looking forward to 1984 and expect to set a new record for earnings and funding.
