All Souls Welcoming Con gregation is a Unitarian Universalist Commu nity under the organizing ministry of Rev. Dee Graham. While Rev. Graham is a les bian, they do not intend to become a gay church, but rather one that welcomes every one, no questions asked. According to their brochure, they are “A religious community where all begin with commitment to social justice, inclusive of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and our loved ones; A diverse congregation beyond closets, beyond segregation, beyond demands, where love of one another flourishes; A spiritual home where homophobia, racism, ableism, sexism, and all kinds of hatred are banished, because they are not required in our search for truth and mean ing in our lives; A religious education experi ence where children are nurtured with op tions, where choice is paramount, and where straight and gay parents and friends and youth find affirmation together.” For information, call the church at (910) 993-8822 or write them at PO Box 772, Kernersville, NC 27285. The North Carolina chapters of Men Of All Colors Together (MACT) are gathering statistics to determine if people in North Caro lina feel that the gay/lesbian bars discriminate due to race, gender, age, etc. They have a survey form to aid in their endeavor and wish it to be completely confidential. The survey is available at various locations across the state (including the Q-Notes office) or can be obtained by writing MACT/G-T, PO Box 14327, Greensboro, NC 27415. They are requesting that all surveys be returned by April 30. If you want to express your experi ence with discrimination in greater detail than the survey allows, you can include a descrip tion on a separate sheet of paper or call 1-800- 789-0052, ext. 901. For those wishing to remember loved ones lost to AIDS by making or helping someone make a panel for the AIDS Memorial Quilt, the NAMES Project Charlotte is conducting Panelmaking Workshops on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:00-9:00pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1900 The Plaza, Charlotte. ARTS NC, a statewide service organiza tion, is holding their 1995 Arts Forum in Fayetteville, April 23-25. The host hotel for the conference is the Radisson Prince Charles. Keynote speakers are Dr. Robert W. Terry, an internationally recognized leadership “guru,” and Bill StricUand, Executive Director of the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild in Pittsburg, PA who manages programs which take the arts into at-risk neighborhoods. The Mid-Atlantic District of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC) will hold its two-day Spring Conference at the Radisson Hotel in Richmond, VA on April 28 & 29. The theme is “Revealing The Religious Right” and the keynote speaker will be Rev. Dr. Mel White. He is scheduled to speak twice on Saturday, at 9:00am and at 7:00pm. Facili tators are Rev. Conrad Hoover, D. Min., a Catholic priest and Spiritual Director at the Center, and Jim Green, a gay licensed profes sional counselor worldng at the center. The group. Green says, “intends to assist gay men in the journey of being both gay and spiritual.
