"I spent my formative years in
Jacksonville, NC. home to Camp Lejeune,
so most of our babysitters were — are you
ready for this — US Marines. I remember
one in particular. He was named Charlie
Brown and he gave my brother and me
horsey rides in uniform. Could you die? i
was in fourth grade, so there was nothing
going on, but by the time Mama and
Daddy got back 1 was bouncing off the
walls for no reason I could possibly have
understood. Now 1 do. I was a military
fetishist at the tender age of nine ... Thus
began a lifetime of searching for — and
finding — gay fantasies that would sow the
seeds of my current kinks."
Perry is a gay man working for Premiere
Radio Networks, the same company that
produces Dr. Laura Schlessinger and Rush
Limbaugh — about which he says, "I
frequently wake up in the middle of the
night feeling dirty about that. 1 atone by
keeping active in my queer community and
MCC church, pointing out the picture of my
spouse on my desk to anyone who comes
near, and this year organizing Premiere
Radio Networks officially-sponsored
marching contingent in the LA Gay Pride
parade."
When he is not in his employers' faces,
he writes and produces nationally-
syndicated radio comedy sketches. He is
also a humor contributor to Frontiers,
California's premiere gay newsmagazine,
and a Contributing Editor to Instinct
Magazine, a national gay men's (non-porn)
glossy.
The editor of Instinct, Ben Rogers and
Perry have co-written a book titled Going
Down, the Instinct Guide to Oral Sex which is
due out in May or June. Perry is also
finishing a follow up to Funny That Way due
out in late 2002 or early 2003.
loel Perry lives in LA with his spouse, Fred and
