It seems Santa came for a couple of girls this year, which is great, and no 1 don’t mean anyone got pres ents — no shade there! There have been a couple of national contests that have taken place since we last chatted, so let’s hash and rehash! Miss Black Universe took place several weeks ago in Atlanta and I hear my good sis ter Leisha Paris was really turning the party along with Marissa (from Jacksonville, Fla.) and then they went into Cb& A and Miss Marissa spoke to the children! Needless to say, she won and Tatianna was first runner- up, Leisha was second, Carrionne Sinclaire was third and Silkie Munro was fourth. Miss U.S. of A. at Large was just held in Dallas and 1 hear I missed a great pageant. The bold and the beautiful Kelexis-Davenport was crowned, and from the pics I’ve seen, she was painted for the Texas state line. Passion St. Claire, her daughter, was first RU, Angel Sheridan was second, Dorae Saunders was third and Kitty Litter was fourth. Other girls in finals were Jocelyn Summers, Vanessa Ross, Chanel, Princess Janae, Alayna Marquez,'Sybil Ann Storm, Monica St. James and Chocolate Thunderpussy. Best Non- Finishing Finalist was Mackynzie Bryant. I wish Kelexis all the happiness and success in the world (and plenty of MAC eye colors) during her reign. The first Miss Continental Elite was just held in Chicago and Nikki Addams of Ft. Lauderdale it is! I hear she was the clear win ner and what wonderful news to hear about An Evening Fliixus: A Happening Performance by musicians of The New Paradigm Percussion Quartet, featuring works by such composers and artists as John Cage, La Monte Young, David Noon, George Brecht, Yoko Ono, Toshi Ichiyanagi, George Anteil, Nam June Paik, Man Ray, jean Arp, and Fernand Leger. In conjunction with the Turchin Center's current exhibition, The Omnipotent Dream: Man Ray, Confluences and Influences. Nikki’s first RU was Barbara Herr, second Sheri Payne, third The Legendary Misty Knight and fourth Coti Collins. Nikki will luckily have a long reign since owner Jim Flint wants to combine the weekend of Miss Elite and Miss PLUS, so she’ll give her crown up Easter of 2005! And speaking of Continental, the most recent winner of a prelim to Miss PLUS is Christian Valentino, who captured the title of Miss Tri-State, and then Jodie Santana, who won the most recent Continental title, also of Miss Tri-State. Miss National Apollo was recently held in Alabama and Kourtni DeVayne of Texas won. Her first RU was former Charlottean Jordan Kennedy. While on the subject of Alabama contests, Raquell Scott (formerly of Nashville) just won Miss Druids in Tuscaloosa and Sable Steele of Birmingham just won Miss Gay Huntsville. The most recent prelim to Miss Classic U.S. of A. was Miss Florida and Ginger Manchester won. Her RU was Tina Knight. On the local level, congrats go to Paisley Parque for winning Miss Honey-Boo at Scandals in Asheville. Her runners-up were Vivica Dupree and Celine Rodriguez. Miss Millennium was recently held at Club Odyssey in Winston-Salem and Arabia Knight-Addams crowned Versage. Her RU was Kysha Wellington. Versage, who is also Miss N.C. U.S. of A., just gave up her preliminary title of Miss Capital City at Legends in Raleigh, and the winner was Diana Prince. Her RU was Jezebel. The third Miss Cay N.C. was just held in Hickory at Club Cabaret and it was a great contest. The ladies who got spots at that last prelim [Miss Foothills] were winner Sierra Santana and her runners-up DeeDee Devine and Alexandria Devine. The winner’s court included your new Miss Cay NC, the beauti ful Coti Collins, first RU Dana St. James, sec ond Quindyn Campbell (my first time seeing her, and she blew me away) and third Tia Douglas. Other finalists included Kcagan Destiny Dreams, Detra Pcnucci and Malaysia Black. Best Non-Finalist was Sierra Santana (my biggun’ sister from Charlotte) and Miss Congeniality was Rockclle DeMonoco. Congrats to the lovely Kirby Kolby on an out standing year! One correction before 1 close out — Coco Chanel did not place at the Miss Cay N.C. prelim held at DAKS. Actually, no alternate was sent. Look for the story Fm doing on local entertainer (and new Scorpio Sunday night emcee) Tamalah Taylor in the next Q-No(es. info: Drop me a line, OK?
