HRC Carolinas Dinner earns honor CHARLOTTE — The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Carolinas Dinner Committee has earned HRC Dinner Committee of the Year after attracting more than i ,400 guests to the 2006 HRC Carolinas Dinner. The 2006 dinner, held Feb. 25 at the Charlotte Convention Center, drew more guests than any other HRC dinner across the country except the national dinner in Washington, D.C. The local atten dance figure also set a record for the II -year- old Carolinas dinner, which was held in 2005 in Charlotte and in previous years in Raleigh, Cary and Greensboro. The 2006 Carolinas dinner also set records for in-kind sponsorships, silent auction revenue and net funds raised. The 12th-annual HRC Carolinas Dinner will return to Charlotte in 2007 and will be held at the Convention Center on Feb. 24. PRIDE to host-events CHARLOTTE — PRIDE Charlotte will hold a “Pride Savers” Block Party on May 6, noon to 5 p.m., at The Lesbian and Gay Community Center, i401 Central Ave. Activities will include live musical per formances, a bazaar, yard sale, food ven dors and more. All proceeds go to support The Center and its newest endeavor, PRIDE Charlotte. PRIDE Charlotte is currently seeking vendors for concessions and merchandise.
