CHARLOTTE — LOAFERS (formerly
Lesbians Over the Age of Forty, which is now
open to all ages) is a support/iscussion/social
group that meets at 6:30 p.m. at The Lesbian
and Gay Community Center, 820 Hamilton St.,
Suite B11, on the second Friday of each month.
This group, which is now well into its sec
ond decade, is made up of a variety of women:
some are out of the closet, others are in or in
various stages in between. Some women have
partners, some are single and some are still
married; The one thing they have in common
is that they like to get together to talk, eat,
have fun, laugh and learn from each other.
Informal gatherings are held throughout
the month. It is self-led, with no one serving
as its head.
A camping trip is scheduled for April and
other events were on the drawing board at
press time.
