CHURCH NOTICES Page Twelve First Presbyterian We Pi'esbyterians stand where our forefathers, and where all the Presby terian world stands, in regard to the unconditional sovereiRnty of God; for the Bible as the only, infallible rule of faith and life; for simplicity of worship; for representative Rovernment; a high standard of Christian living; liberty of conscience; popular education; and for missionary activity and true Christian catholicity. We seek the fellowship of all God’s people, no matter what their faith or creed may be, and no matter what social or financial standing they may havd. All are welcome with us, and we want to be brethren to all. In becoming a member of our Church, we only ask that the candidate believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord', and that he promise to live a Christian life to the best of his judgment. All other rnattcrs, which are of less importance, •ire left with the candidate and God for settlement. We welcome you, my brother and sister, to come and worship with us. You will always be welcome, and we will be looking for you. Services every Sunday morning at 10.00 and 11.00; and every Sunday evening a popular service at 8.00. Prayer services on Wednesday evenings. Ladies' League every two weeks. Walter A. Cueason, M. A. Minister First Methodist The Methodist Church extends a hearty welcome to the people of Badin. Sunday School at 9.45 a. m.; preaching at 11.00 a. m. and 8.30 p. m., at the Theater. Your presence will be appre ciated at all of these services. We meet with our Presbyterian brethren in a joint prayer meeting at the Community Hall, every Wednesday night, at 8.30. You good Methodists in Badin, who have your church membership elsewhere, please unite with the Methodist Church here. It is simple.—write for your church letter, or get the pastor to write for you. Some people, in moving, move everything except their church letter. It ought not so to be. Baptists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, and Methodists, hear the call of the pastors to transfer your member ship to the church of your faith in Badin. First Baptist “The Badin Campaign for Souls” has greatly stirred and is still stirring the religious consciousness of Badin. The Baptists, under the leadership of Pastor J. M. Arnette, assisted by Dr. John A. Wray> pastor of the First Baptist Chui'ch of Monroe, N. C., have played a conspicuous part in this campaign. The membership of the Baptist Church is being continually increased and inspired to greater zeal and enthusiasm. Work on the new church building is still being delayed on account of inability to get steel'. But the Baptists are planning to use the time of this delay for building a handsome home for their pastor. Don’t forget the hours for services: Sunday School at 10 a. m. Preaching at BADIN BULLETIN 11 o’clock in the morning and at 8 in the evening. You are cordially invited to attend these services. Badin M. E. Sunday School “The Sunday School that Docs Things" We have just completed our second year, and feel proud of our success. We plan to do even greater things this year. Help us to keep the home fires burning, by your attendance and prayers at our services. Remember we meet at the Badin Theater, every Sunday morning, rain or shine, at 9.45. We have classes for all ages, from the Cradle Roll to adults. October 6 will be the occasion of our annual Rally Day service. Special program will be rendered by the children. Come, mothers and fathers, and see what the Sabbath School is doing for your children. The Red and Blue contest was a great success, and was enjoyed by all. Our appeal went out in the September issue of the Bulletin to rally around us, and we are glad to say that it has been heard, for many new faces are seen at our services. Yours in Christian service R. T. Wangeman Other Items of Interest The Red Cross Work Room in the Theater building is open every afternoon at two-thirty. All women are urged to come, and help make the necessary gar ments for the boys who have left us to go “over there.” Attention! All persons who have pledged money to the Second Red Cross War Drive, and have not made any pay ments, will' be posted in a list at a down town store at the end of October. Mrs. Lawrence Daniel is visiting her parents in Paterson, N. J. Miss Mary Williams, teacher of danc ing, arrived from Knoxville, Tenn., on August 31. Mrs. Spencer, who has been ill in the Badin Hospital, is keenly missed every where, especially the Red Cross Work Room. Rev. Mr. Hughes, of Albemarle, gave a fine address at the Community Ser vice on Sunday evening, September 1. Please, whenever it is possible, make a payment on your pledge to the Second Red Cross War Drive. If you are not able to pay in full, any amount on your pledge will be gladly received. The Local Branch receives a percentage, and we are very much in need of funds for military supplies. "'.V' - X BADIN METHODIST EPISCOPAL SUNDAY SCHOOL Place of Organization September 1916
