The “Penny Social,” held under the
iuspices of the Ladies’ Aid Society, at
^Irs. F. F. Manley’s, May 8, was a de-
'•ded success. About one hundred and
Jfty were present, and a nice sum was
'ealized toward the furnishing of the
■hurch.
^ Messrs. J. E. S. Thorpe, D. Clark, and
' • P. Manly were elected trustees of the
hurch property, at a meeting of the con-
ffegation recently.
The pastpr of the church is now
'•■eaching twice a month, in the after-
'oon, at Palestine Presbyterian Church,
‘*veral miles in the country.
The church has recently put in a new
^'sno, and the choir, under the direc-
‘''f' of Mr. Belk and Mrs. Clark, has
ken on new life, and adds much to the
**fvices.
The order of services for the sum-
is as follows: Preaching at 11.00
School at
1^' ® a. m.; Prayer Meeting at 8.30 p.
^®dnesday. A cordial invitation is
to all to worship with us.

Badin Methodist Church
Our Sunday School work is progress
ing nicely. The attendance has almost
reached the two hundred mark. On Sun
day, June 15, 8.30 p. m., the Sunday
School will hold its Sunday School Day
exercises. If you are not attending Sun
day School elsewhere, come to the Badin
Theater next Sunday morning, at 9.45.
The latchstring hangs on the outside of
the door.
Regular preaching services every Sun
day, at 11.00 a. m. and 8.30 p. m. Our
congregations are growing in number,
and considerable interest is being mani
fested. One of the inspirational features
of the preaching services is the singing.
On Friday night of each week, there is
a choir rehearsal, at the home of Mrs.
Fuller, on Tallassee Avenue.
In a short while, we hope to be in our
own church home. Remember that we
now worship in the Theater. You are
cordially invited to worship with us, and
help us feast on the good things of the
Lord. If you do not attend church at
the Theater next Sunday, please attend,
if possible, some church in town. The
churches need your presence and help.

Baptist Church Notes
We are making rapid strides toward
being an A-1 Sunday School, under our
superintendent, Mr. E. F. Smith.
The secretary, Mr. C. H. Jones, made
an interesting talk at Sunday School,
May 18, on “Systematic Giving.”
The Missionary Society met at the
home of Mrs. W. S. West. Subject,
“Mission Literature,” led by Mrs. E. F.
Smith.
Work on our new church is to bo
started again about June 1. We feel
that we can be of much more service
to our denomination, and the community,
when our quarters are more commodious,
and are very anxious to see the structure
grow.
