Manley’s, May 8, was a de- '•ded success. About one hundred and Jfty were present, and a nice sum was 'ealized toward the furnishing of the ■hurch. ^ Messrs. J. E. S. Thorpe, D. Clark, and ' • P. Manly were elected trustees of the hurch property, at a meeting of the con- ffegation recently. G. Tate Pastor Badin Methodist Church Our Sunday School work is progress ing nicely. The attendance has almost reached the two hundred mark. On Sun day, June 15, 8.30 p. m., the Sunday School will hold its Sunday School Day exercises. If you are not attending Sun day School elsewhere, come to the Badin Theater next Sunday morning, at 9.45. The latchstring hangs on the outside of the door. Regular preaching services every Sun day, at 11.00 a. m. and 8.30 p. m. Our congregations are growing in number, and considerable interest is being mani fested. One of the inspirational features of the preaching services is the singing. On Friday night of each week, there is a choir rehearsal, at the home of Mrs. Fuller, on Tallassee Avenue. In a short while, we hope to be in our own church home. Remember that we now worship in the Theater. You are cordially invited to worship with us, and help us feast on the good things of the Lord. If you do not attend church at the Theater next Sunday, please attend, if possible, some church in town. The churches need your presence and help. J. E. B. Houser Pastor Baptist Church Notes We are making rapid strides toward being an A-1 Sunday School, under our superintendent, Mr. E. F. Smith. The secretary, Mr. C. H. Jones, made an interesting talk at Sunday School, May 18, on “Systematic Giving.” The Missionary Society met at the home of Mrs. W. S. West. Subject, “Mission Literature,” led by Mrs. E. F. Smith. Work on our new church is to bo started again about June 1. We feel that we can be of much more service to our denomination, and the community, when our quarters are more commodious, and are very anxious to see the structure grow. "p hearne J. s.
