Mr. Tate, the scout- '*'^ster, reports a most instructive and ^^joyable time as well as all the boys attended. The Badin Boy Scouts foop No. 2 have built themselves a house in Holly Park which does and the town credit. Craigs Visit Friends in Badin .^rs. J. 0. Craig and little daughter, Woodburn, came from Salisbury to the week end, April 22, at the ’''»ne of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Wake. Social and Personal On Saturday evening Mr. Craig joined his wife here, and remained over Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Aiken Moore gave a dinner party Saturday night followed by two tables of bridge. Those partici pating were Mr. and Mrs. Thorpe, Mr. and Mrs. Craig, Mr. and Mrs. Wake, and the host and hostess. Mrs. Herman Bell, of Spruce Street, gave a dance the past week complimen tary to her daughter, Bessie, of New Bern, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bell. Miss Bell has returned to New Bern, where she makes her home with her grandparents. Saturday evening, May 1, MrS. Clar ence W. Coffman of Henderson Avenue entertained informally with two tables of “bridge" complimentary to Mrs. J. T. Kennedy, of Newark, N. J., who is the house guest of Mrs. Lawrence G. Daniels of Henderson Avenue. Mrs. Henry Jenkins gave a birthday party the past week to celebrate the ninth anniversary of little Miss Alberta’s birth. Games entertained the young folks and refreshments were served and all wished the young lady many happy returns of the day. Thursday afternoon, April 22, the Auction Bridge , Cjub met with Mrs. Wake. Mrs. Craig, who was a member of the Club during her residence in Badin, was the guest of honor. A salad course, with iced tea, was served. Mrs. R. C. Platt was the house guest of her sister, Mrs. R. C. Bizzell of Maple Street. Mrs. Platt is from Wilmington, N. C. Miss Virginia Howell of Tallassee Avenue celebrated her sixth birthday in her home in company with her many small friends. Miss Sallie Walke, our successful kindergarten teacher enter tained the young people. Mrs. W. B. Fuller gave a “bridge” Tuesday evening, complimentary to Mrs. J. T. Kennedy of Newark, N. J. Those present were Mesdames Fuller and Fuller, Jr., Daniels, Pannill, Turner, Clarke, and Kennedy. Miss Evelyn Pannill of Willow Street celebrated her fifth birthday this week. A huge birthday cake with five candles was the center of attraction. Her band of little friends wished her many happy returns of the day. The Presbyterian Ladies’ Aid Society met with Mrs. Turner at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Darrell Clark, on Tallassee Avenue, Thursday afternoon. After the quilting was finished refresh ments were served. Mrs. J. H. Spraker entertained Tues day evening in honor of Mrs. Young's sister. Miss Sally, who is visiting her from Georgia. A splendid musical pro gram was given. Mrs. Clyde Nash and Miss Sally sang. Miss Walke is to become the bride of Mr. B. S. Liles on June 23 and it is safe to say there will be weeping if not gnashing of teeth among all our little people under six years of age. Mrs. R. L. Miller entertained her Sun day school class Tuesday afternoon. The little folks comprise the primary class of the Methodist Sunday school. Everyone had a very happy afternoon. Mrs. Lawrence G. Daniels entertained Wednesday evening with a bridge party complimentary to her houseguest, Mrs. J. T. Kennedy, of Newark, N. J. Mr. Ellison spent Sunday in Greens boro. S SI'S!
