prises a study of relative values, the preparation and ser

DRAWING COURSES
Drawing courses are offered in both mechanical and fiee-

make his own drawing for manual training work. The free
hand course is planned to develop power of observation, im
agination, and self expression.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
The course in Physical Education is given thiough the
entire school. Prom the lower first through the sixth grades,
the work is supervised in the classrooms, and includes graded
gymnastics, games, and folk dances—many of the lessons
being given out of doors. Above the sixth grade, the work
is divided—the boys having military tactics, basket-ball, and
football; and the girls having graded gymnastics, folk, na
tional, and interpretive dances, volley-ball, and basket-ball.
The playgrounds are very completely equipped, and all play
is supervised. Our aim is to make every child in school
physically fit, and at the same time develop in him a true
spirit of sportmanship.
MUSIC
Public School music is recognized as one of the most po
tent factors of the school course, and the Badin Public School
is one of the few schools in the State that has already begun
such a course. About five per cent, of the school day is
devoted to music. Sight reading and voice culture are in

GOOD HEALTH
Good Health is one of the most essential requisites of a
successful individual, land the school is the best place in
the world to grow familiar with the need of becoming a
healthy individual. Habits can be laid in school that will
stay through life, and they can be encouraged there better
than under any other influences. The school with its physi
cal education, the medical supervision it provides, and play
ground equipment with supervised play, is trying to raise
the standard of health of the children. During the year,
lectures are given by a competent physician on communicable
diseases.
