PICTURED IN the above box is
a composite picture of what each
squadron team is doing in the
various squadron sports. It is re
printed in the Cloudbuster to give
the cadets an opportunity to study
the standings of their respective
teams, and to also let the officers
and other station personnel find
out what squadrons are showing
up best.

Lieut. Raese Holds
Varsity Basketball
Practice For 37th
Varsity basketball practice got
underway this week as around 20
men from the 37th Battalion re
ported to Lieut. Dyke Raese,
USNR, head basketball coach.
“No cadets back of the 37th Bat
talion will be allowed to go out for
varsity basketball,” Lieut. Raese
stated. He added that the first
game would probably not.be played
until early December, and that all
cadets except those in the 37th and
later battalions would be grad
uated from here by then.
Last year’s Cloudbuster quintet
started out strong, but the loss of
several'key men near the middle
of the season left the team with
little in the way of basketball abil
ity. The reason record was seven
victories against a like number of
defeats.
Cadets in the newly arrived 38th
Battalion will be allowed to report
for varsity practice next week.
Workouts are being held on the
Woollen gymnasium floor each
afternoon during the Sports Pro
gram period.
Defeated teams last year in
cluded Duke’s Blue Devils, South
ern Conference Champions; La
Salle College; N. C. State twice;
Wake Forest; Catawba; and the
University of Virginia.
Losses came at the hands of Ap
palachian, Duke, Long Island,
George Washington, Norfolk Air
Station, Penn State, and Du-
quesne.
The most points made by a
Cloudbuster in a single game were
31 against N. C. State in the con
test played here. Captain of the
Cloudbusters—Gus Broberg, for
mer Dartmouth ace—did the scor
ing.
The schedule for this year has
FOOTBALL
(Continued from page one)
Clemson, which bowed to the
Deacons last Saturday, 41 to 12.
Leading the Wake Forest offen
sive power is Sophomore Tailback
Nick Sacrinity. He ran a kickoff
return 94 yards for a touchdown
against V. M. I. two weeks ago,
and last Saturday completed
passes of 36 and 22 yards for two
Wake Forest scores, and fought
his way 15 yards with a lateral
from Elmer Barbour to score a
third.
As if that wasn’t enough scor
ing power, the Deacons have two
other backs who will cause the
Cloudbusters trouble. Russ Perry
and Grant are the names.
Perry scored two touchdowns
against Clemson, and Grant, a
substitute back who led the scor
ing in the Southern Conference
for a spell, came through with one.
The Cloudbusters have been
drilling for the Wake Forest game
minus the services of seven men
who saw considerable action in
previous games. They are Cadets
Raymond Norman, S. Budziaro-
ski, J. T. Miller, V. L. Cleri, R,
Annis, W. R. Long and W, C.
Learned.
Norman and Budziaroski are
wingbacks. Miller is a tailback,
Cleri and Annis are fullbacks, and
Long and Learned are guards.
It was Miller, if you. recall, who
tossed a touchdown pass to Nor
man for the only Cloudbuster score
against the Georgia Pre-Flight.
Expected to furnish the Cloud
buster power this afternoon is
Cadet Cecil Hare, while William
Hannigan, up from Squadron
Sports, might cause the Deacons
trouble on end sweeps.
Hare, it might be well to men
tion, was a blocking back for the
Washington Redskins last year,
and did not even carry the ball.
Coach Kimbrough has him run
ning from the fullback position
here.
