AS PART OF ITS observance of the holiday season, the U. S. Navy
Pre-Flight School during the past week gave Christmas parties for
elementary school children of the Chapel Hill community. Pictures
in the top row were taken at the party for white children held in
Navy Hall on Monday—on the right they are shown receiving gifts,
and on the left they are gathered around the Christmas tree
singing carols. In the bottom photo are shown happy youngsters
gathered around Santa at the party held for colored children at the
Navy Band quarters on Tuesday. There were ice cream, cookies,
tangerines, nuts and gifts for all at both of the parties.
