Smith, Los Angeles, Cal., regimental commander. Adm. Hardison Says V. S. Air Power Is ‘Definitely Superior' to Japan’s Norfolk Naval Training Station Here on Tuesday The U. S. Navy Pre-Flight Cloudbusters will bring their bas ketball season to a close next Tuesday night with the Norfolk Naval Training Station quintet, rated as the No. 1 service cage team in the nation, furnishing the opposition. Site of the contest will be Woollen Gymnasium, and game time is 1930. Two weeks ago at Norfolk, the Training Station scored a 57 to 47 verdict over the Pre-Flighters. Featured on the Norfolk team are such well known players as Matt Zunic, George Washington; Earl Keith, Warrensburg Teachers; Ralph Bishop, Wyoming Univer sity; and John Floyd, Oklahoma A. and M. Their season record to date is 26 wins against one loss. The Cloudbusters have not been at top strength since the loss of Stan Skaug two weeks ago. Sev eral men have been tried at his position, but no one has been able to take over in the style Skaug handled the job. Myers wUI start at one of the forward spots, Palmer will be at center, and Dye and Elser at the guards. The other forward posi tion will be filled by either Laird, Lange or Artman. Complete show one hour, 54 minutes. Rear Admiral Osborne B. Hardison, USN, former Com mander, Fleet Air, South Pacific, who has just taken over as Chief of Naval Air Primary Training, said in Kansas City recently that American air power in the South Pacific area is “definitely su perior” to Japan’s. “Our air power,” he said, “is quantitatively and qualitatively superior to the enemy’s in that area and our people are pretty well knocking his ears down. “I’m not saying we’ve won the war, but we are more than a match for the Japs in the air. On the sur face we keep looking for them and they don’t come out of hiding of ten.” In his first press interview since returning from the South Pacific, Admiral Hardison expressed be lief that “the spirit of the Japs will weaken as we beat them back. The Dispensary was placed in operation on Feb. 9, 1943, and has been under the continuous direction of Comdr. Deane H. Vance, MC-USN (Ret.), senior medical officer.
