WAR BONDS (Continued from page one) than $37,000,” Lieut. Brewer told the CLOUDBUSTER. “It is our hope that the present drive will be even more successful.” 88.4% of the personnel of this Station participated in the Pearl Harbor drive, and the amount sub scribed was equal to more than 47% of the monthly payroll of the entire Station. In a recent directive on the July 4th Campaign, Secretary For- restal commented that this year, the campaign falls within the period of the Fifth War Loan Drive of the Treasury Depart ment, and the Navy sales pro gram, consequently, will benefit from the widespread publicity given the Treasury campaign. At the same time, not only will Navy civilian and military person nel who make their extra cash bond purchases between July 1 and July 8 have their purchases credited to the Navy program, but the Navy results will in turn be included in the Treasury campaign .total. The Navy thus has the oppor tunity of making a double-barreled contribution. But, in order to take full advantage of this, the enthu siastic backing of every naval ac tivity, afloat and ashore is re quired. “When the final results of the Navy’s Independence Day Extra W'ar Bond Sale are announced,” said Secretary Forrestal, “I am confident that another brilliant record will be added to the history of accomplishment by Navy per- F.onnel.” Help this station and buy yours and your families’ War Bonds through our bond officer.
