Complete show one hour, 33 minutes. SPORTSPROGRAM (Continued from page three) wrestling competition all contests were unusually close. Not only were the boxing results decided by one bout, but all of the fights were very close. In swimming the final event on the program decided the winner of the meet, while only five points separated the track par ticipants. Cadets Wally Suess and Sar- !reau scored two goals apiece and ithe 52nd defeated the 54th, 4 to 2, in the best soccer game played to date. Suess, besides doing fine offensive work, was the outstand ing player on the fidd with his all round ability. Time and again he received praise from the audience for his fine p^formance.. SVRVIVAL (Continued from page one) Lieut. G. D. Kepler, USNR, in charge of the program here; Lt. (jg) John Craighead, who is sta tioned in the survival program here, and Ensign J. J. Lynch, USNR, of the Iowa Pre-Flight School. Present plans, according to Lieut. Kepler, call for the visiting officers to spend one week on the base, and one in the woods on a circular course which will include the Navy Camp, Ed’s Mountain, Haw River, Stone Mountain and New Hope Swamp. While on the base for the first week the officers will have study hours and lectures in the morning, field trips in the afternoon, and movies and lectures at night. The instruction will continue for 14 straight days, Sunday included. After the officers complete their instruction here they will go to Pensacola for one week, and from there to Miami for seven more days of instruction. Then they will proceed back to their home bases to instruct survival to men in the service. But in the fifth the Hawks put to gether home runs by Hatton and Trippi, doubles by Wright and Pitcher Harrington and a single by Catcher Piskor for four runs to take a 7-3 lead. The Cloud- busters got one back in their half of the same inning but the Hawks pulled ahead 9-4 with two more runs in the sixth, George Granger, who relieved Harrington in the fifth, was credited with the victory, while Ed O’Neill, second of four Pre- Flight pitchers, was charged with the loss. The two teams have broken even in four games played to date. Personnel Changes • Nine enlisted men were trans ferred from this station during the past week, W'hile three men were received for service at this unit. Those transferred were Joseph A1 Denker, Sp(P)2c, Brooks W. Harwood, HAlc, Warren F. White, PhM3c, and Euell M. Wren, Y2c, all to Navy V-12 Unit, Chapel Hill, N. C.; Roger M. Christen son, PhM3c, to V-12 Unit at Duke University; Bryan D. Cox, Jr., SK2c, Ralph E. Fickenworth, SKlc, and James P. Morrissey, Jr., S2c, all to Lido Beach, L. I., for further transfer; and Norman E. Coffin, CPhM(AA) USN, to Camp Peary, Williamsburg, Va. Roy C. Kendall, SK3c, was re ceived from NAPTC-RO, Dal las, Texas; Tommy Edwards, MoMMSc; from USS Cooner; and Robert 0. Officer, CSP(A) (AA), from Navy V-12, Emory Univer sity, Ga. 53rd Sets Pace In Military With a daily average of 3.833, the 53rd Battalion 1^ the way in military competitipn for the two^ week period just completed. Both the 50th and 54th had 3.667 to tie for second and third respectively, and the 52nd was fourth with 3.467. The 51st was last in line with 3.367.
