Two Clubs Meet For Third Time At 1430 Today Two of the top service teams in the nation—the Skycrackers of Georgia and the Cloudbusters of North Carolina—^will square off this afternoon at 1430 in Kenan Stadium in the top football game for this section this week end. The visitors, coached by Lieut. Raymond W. “Ducky” Pond, fam ous for his coaching at Yale Uni versity, arrived in Chapel Hill last night. The team, on the whole, is in fine shape, and the Cloudbusters are expecting one of their toughest games of the season. To date the Skycrackers have played three games. In the season opener they defeated South Caro lina, 20 to 14, and the following week end handed the Cherry Point Marines a 33 to 0 shellacking. The Cloudbusters had to come from be hind to defeat this same Marine outfit, 27 to 14. Last Sunday, at Athens, the vis itors dropped their first contest, a 19 to 7 defeat at the hands of the Third Air Force Gremlins. At halftime they were ahead, 7 to G, and a couple of tough breaks got them in trouble during the second period. Incidentally, the Skycrack ers are the only team to score against the Gremlins this year. The season record of the Cloud busters, other than the 27 to 14 Marine victory, include a 21 to 14 win over the Naval Academy, a 13 to 6 win over Duke and a 13-13 tie with Virginia. Currently the team is rated 10th in the nation in the weekly Associated Press Poll. Twice previously the two clubs have met. Two years ago at Ath ens, the game ended in a 14-14 tie, and last year the Skycrackers won, 20 to 7. See FOOTBALL, page U
