WHILE THE SCORE WAS LOW there was still plenty of action in the last Saturday’s game between the Pre-Flight Schools of Georgia
and North Carolina. On the left Ted Scruggs, Georgia end, had only Otto Graham between him and the goal line, but the Cloudbuster
back made the tackle to save the day. The play was good for 25 yards. In the center photo Bob Hamilton, No. 77, returns a punt midway
the second period. Wilson and Anderson made the tackle after Hamilton picked up 15 yards. Albert Bassey, Cloudbuster substitute
quarterback, was stopped by Bob Burkett, Georgia center, after picking up four yards.

Buell St. Johns’ Field Goal
Gives Cloudbusters, 3-0, Win
The score was tied, it was fourth
down on the two yard line, and
only eight seconds of play left in
the game. Then Buell St. John
dropped 10 yards back of the line
of scrimmage and coolly booted
the pigskin over the cross-bar for
three points and a Cloudbuster
victory. And—^probably the cool
est guy in the stadium was Buell
St. John—and why not? He’s been
on the spot in more important sit
uations as a member of Carlson’s
Raiders in the Pacific.
There you have the scoring in
one of the best football games
played in Kenan Stadium all year.
An estimated crowd of 10,000 per
sons witnessed the ball game
which saw both teams fail to take
advantage of several golden scor
ing opportunities.
The Cloudbusters took the open
ing kickoff and started out like a
house afire by marching from their
