The senior 60th battalion was the winner with 255 points, while the 62nd had 250, and the 61st, 245. In fourth place was the 63rd, with 170 points. Not until all the sports results were in was the winner decided. After military, academics and class athletics had been totaled the 60th had 160 points, the 62nd had 150, the 61st had 110, and the 63rd had 60. In the sports competition the 61st set the pace with a 135-point total by winning first places in swimming, track and wrestling. The 60th rated first in boxing and “B” soccer, and the 62nd had first place in football. Winning first places in both military and academics gave the 60th an advantage the other bat talions were never able to over come.
