Big Indoor Season

Win Or Lose Against Academy.
Cagers Sure Of Good Record
Regardless of the outcome of
their game tomorrow against
Navy at Annapolis the Cloud
buster cagers are assured of an
other highly successful season.
Not even the most optimistic
supporters are too hopeful as
concerns the tilt with the Mid
shipmen, for the Academy has
one of the top teams in the
country and Pre-Flight recently
lost its two top scorers, Otto Gra
ham and Dean Meador.
With 16 victories in 21 games,
however, the ’Busters already
have lived up to every expecta
tion and, win or lose tomorrow,
they will go down in the books
as a team that compares favor
ably with other Pre-Flight var
sity outfits.
Coach Raese Misses Trip
During the last week the
Cloudbusters dropped a 42-46
decision to Georgia Pre-Flight
and won an easy 80-to-39 game
against Wake Forest, both games
played away. While Graham
and Meador both were absent
for the first time this season, the
Cloudbusters nevertheless put up
a rousing battle against the Sky-
crackers, whom they previously
had beaten with ease. Mehl
scored a dozen points for Pre-
Flight and at the half Georgia
led by only 23-21 but the ’Bust-
■ers gave away too much in ex
perience. Coach Dyke Raese
missed the trip due to the illness
of Mrs. Raese.
Against Wake Forest the
Cloudbusters roared back, piling
up a 40-to-8 lead at the half and
coasting the rest of the way with
second-stringers in the line-up.
Matmen Whip Duke
In Second Meeting
With only Navy remaining on
the schedule, the Cloudbuster
wrestlers are assured of at least
an even break for the season fol
lowing their 19-to-13 repeat vic
tory last Friday over Duke,
holder of the Southern Confer
ence title.
In the first meeting of the
’Busters and Blue Devils, held
here, Pre-Flight won by 19-9.
The only loss sustained so far
was to Cherry Point, 12-25.
Navy will be met at Annapolis
on Feb. 24.

The Terrapins, who were
beaten earlier by an identical

Strength in the running events
brought the title to Pre-Flight,
which finished second to Navy
the games last year. Cherry
Point exhibited a strong indi
vidual performer in Staff Sergt-

ed for 14 points by winning the
pole vault and broad jump and
tying for first place in the hig^
jump. In the pole vault he set 2
new meet record clearing the
