TWO FAIRS ***** MISUNDERSTANDING * * NO COOPERATION * * o At this time there seems to be a great confu sion, a stir and a misunderstanding in regard to who should have a Fair, who has the right to have a Fair, and who should give way to the other. From the very outset this paper will take nei ther side of the argument but we will print the facts as they are. The facts follow: The first Fair announcement for 1935 appear ed in the February 14th issue of the Nash Coun ty News and states; “Plans for a Community Fair are already started. It will be about the us ual time and, will be sponsored by the Methodist and Baptist Churches.” The next announcement came on March 7th by the ‘Spring Hope Community Agricultural Fair Association’, “We will stage our annual Fair for one week, beginning September 16, 1935, with the B & B Shows’ playing the Fair.” The next announcement appeared on March 14th when The Community Fair (Churches) named their official.; for the 1935 Fair and stat ed, —“A definite date will be set later.” SALE OF LAND | For 1934 T axes j Notice is hereby Kiven that in pursuance to law hnade and provid ed for the sale of lands and chat tels, for taxes, I have levied on the. following properties in the Town of Sprint? Hope, Na-'ih County, North Carolina, for the amount of taxes due for the yea* 19-14, and prior thereto, coat an<‘ penalty, I will, on Monday September 9th, 1935 between the hour? of 10:00 A. M. and 4:00 P. M. in front of the Mayor’s Office in tflje Town of Sprint? Hope, Nash Cunty, North Carolina, sell the said properties to satisfy said taxes cost, etc., due thereon. Notice is further yiven that af ter said lands have been sold there will be added 8 per cent penalty this penalty becoming effective Sep tember 9th, 1935.
