Twister Tender Harold Dodgen
and Gene Padgett joined the Life
Saving Crew. They started their
First Aid Courses on Tuesday,
October 20. They helped fight a
100-acre fire recently between Dal
las and High Shoals.
M. L. Fogle of Washington,
D. C., is visiting his mother, Mrs.
Marie Fogle, respooler, at her
home on the Union Road.
Lawrence Stiles and Mrs. Ina
Stiles, respooler, spent a recent
week end in Asheville with their

burger and boiled peanut supper.

Section Man Leon Keisler, Tom
Little, retired employee, A. C. Lit
tle, and Mr. Dunlevy spent the
week end of October 15th fishing
at Sneeds Ferry. They caught 75
trout, weighing from 1 pound to
3 1/2 pounds.

Three large signs have been
placed over the entrances to the
plant, each one advises: GIVE TO
YOUR UNITED FUND. The goal
for Greater Gastonia is $89,915.48,
of which Firestone Textiles em
ployees are looked to for a substan
tial part.

are confident they will this time,”

son Kessell, who is serving as cam
paign chairman.

Parrish, Jr. Mrs. Parrish is the
former Miss Carrie Stacey of Gas
tonia. Mrs. Douth and Miss Moss
made the trip to and from Wash
ington via Eastern Air Lines.
Miss Helsn Spencer, Payroll De
partment, with three other mem
bers of the Music Department of
Gastonia Woman’s Club, were rep
resentatives at the Southern Dis
trict, N. C. Federation of Music
Clubs held Saturday, October 24 in
North Wilkesboro. Miss Spencer
appeared on the program, pre
senting as a piano solo, “Cavalleria
Rusticana,” by Mascagni.
