Red Cross Bloodmobiles visited many Firestone
plants during the past year. Firestone Akron
employees contributed 1,848 pints of blood
establishing an average of 154 PINTS a day.
The SKILL, experience and loyalty of Firestone
employees are among the Company’s greatest

Youth activities are encouraged by all
Firestone plants. Boy Scouts from many
Firestone Troops attended the 1953 Boy Scout
Jamboree in Santa Ana, California.
During the year the Pension Plan minimum pension was
raised from $100 A month to $125 for employees who retire
at age 65 WITH 25 years’ service. Employees from the Fall
River, Massachusetts, plant are shown being honored
before their retirements.

For the seventh time in the last 8 years, the NATlONAt
Safety Council presented the Company its Distinguished
Service to Safety Award, the highest honor given by the
Council for industrial safety. Safety boards such as this
one help to keep employees aware of safety.
