These faces register anticipation as the youngsters
get set for the beginning of festivities at the party in
their honor, given by Firestone Textiles, at the Palace
Theatre on York Street,
Santa kept his promise to visit Firestone children
at the parties given for them at the Webb and Palace
theatres. These children agreed that having their
picture taken with the North Pole Visitor was quite an
honor.
Children Feted At
Parties
Employees’ children up to 14
years of age were honored at the
annual Christinas parties on Sat
urday, December 18, at the Webb
and Palace theatres, Gastonia. Th«>
first program was at 9 a. m., in tht
Webb Theatre, with a duplicate
program at 11. In the interim, at
10 a. m., a similar party was given
at the Palace Theatre.
Santa Claus made his appear
ance at each party to add to the
merriment of the children, who
were treated to a feature-length
movie of cartoons and short West
ern attractions.
Santa made good his promise by
passing out a gift to each young
ster who attended.

December 28 for observation and
treatment.
Staff Sergeant W. G. Henson,
Jr., son of W. G. Henson, plant
engineer, received his discharge
from Patrick Air Force Base, Fla.,
December 22, and is at home on
Linwood Street.
Bill Panther and Earl Moore,
carpenters, who are both out from
work on sick leave were each re
membered by other Shop employees
at Christmas time, with poinsettas,
a basket of fruit, and a gift of
money.
Hubert Brown, former Shop em
ployee, Mrs. Brown and son spent
the Christmas holidays here with
relatives and friends. Mr. Brown
left for Marion, Ind., December
28 to resume his studies as a mini
sterial student at Marion College.
Mrs. Brown and son are spending
some time in Gastonia with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kale.
Benchman Jetter Patterson has
returned to work after several days
of illness.

Third Shift inspectors and their
families had their Christmas party
at the Sweetland Restaurant, Mon
day, December 20. A turkey dinner
was served and gifts were ex
