EFFORTS on the part of all sales personnel were intensive. Distribu
tion is essentially through independent tire dealers. The Firestone Stores
enjoyed a year of satisfactory sales and profits and gave service to the public
and to thousands of dealers. Above is the new store opened during the year
on Firestone Parkway in Akron. It is two to three times larger than the
average service store and sells the complete line of Firestone merchandise.
ALL EMPLOYEES, regardless of their jobs, had special opportunities
during the year to help “Sell Firestone.’^ A typical campaign was conducted
at the Memphis plant, where office and plant employees assisted five local
company stores with a successful Sale-O-Rama. From left to right are
F. R. Laughlin, a Memphis store manager; Dollye Joiner, hostess; H. P.
Chatham, power house employee; and Frances Barton, hostess.
THE RED CROSS blood program
received support from Firestone em
ployees in the various plant cities.
