All This For Extras Gastonia Bowling Green Bennettsville Regular payroll for Firestone Textiles Company’s three tire-fabric production plants was $14,544,912 during 1971-1972. In addition to this amount for wages and salaries the division paid its people for the same period a “hidden payroll” (benefits) valued at $4,881,- 324. Harry S. Laver, comptroller, points out that this means Firestone Textiles Company put aside $33.56 each week for each $100 the employees drew in wages. To Job In KC Robert Taylor, since early 1970 factory auditor at the Fire stone Gastonia plant, has been transferred to the company’s stores regional headquarters in Kansas City. He left Gastonia in early March and went to Akron for training in his new assignment. His family, still in Gastonia, will join him in Kansas City later this spring. Taylor’s new assignment is in the stores real estate purchasing department. He will be involved with location and purchase of property for new Firestone stores. Taylor came to Gastonia from two years as senior cost ac countant of the Seiberling plant at Barberton, Ohio. A native of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, he is a graduate of Heidelburg College in Ohio. After joining Firestone at Akron in 1962, Taylor was a tire specifier in the training di vision of the tires district. He later held jobs as auditor, cost analyst, factory accountant and cost accountant. While in Gastonia, Taylor was a member of Optimist Club of Firestone. BENNETTSVILLE Bonds-Buying Firestone at Bennettsville be gan its U.S. Saving Bonds 1973 campaign recently with 100 per cent participation of all clock and salaried employees. Campaign goal is to solicit current subscribers to increase their payroll deduction for bonds. Frances Fletcher, Office, is campaign leader. Canvassers to contact employees are E. E.
