STELLA’S DOLLS Making & collecting Dolls of all sizes and many kinds — col lecting them from lots of sources and many places, and making them, too. Stella Ander son believed that her more than 500 dolls make up the largest collection of its kind in Gaston County (NC). Stella lives near Bessemer City. She re tired from Firestone Textiles in 1970, with almost 25 years service. Her last work was as a respooler in TC Twisting. Mrs. Anderson with a few of her dolls. Presentations emphasized the company’s belief in and its promise- in-practice for the customer; Quality Uniformity in everything Been travelin’ Evelyn Mayfield has been travel ing quite a lot, as part of her rctire- ment-lifc program since 1976. Her first ()utside-U,S. trip was to London in 1978. Then she spent several days in New England and Nova Scotia. Evelyn had an extended stay in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas last summer. In recent weeks she traveled with some cousins from Greer. S.C.. to visit relatives in the Lake Country of Wisconsin and several other places along the way. A Quality Control laboratory technician ibr most of her 39 years at Firestone-Gastonia. Evelyn re tired in May 1976. For a while she was a winder operator and an inspector (QC) in Weaving.
