Franklin Boulevard. First: As you may know, Firestone is taking over the operation of many J. C. Penney Auto Centers. Thus, in order to better serve you, we are moving our store from 101 E. Franklin Blvd. to the former J. C. Penney Auto Center in the Eastridge Mall. Saturday, June 4th, will be the last day of operation of our 101 E. Franklin Blvd. store. Friday, Jiine 3rd, we will be open for business at our new Firestone Auto Center - Eastridge Mall. Thanks to you, the Franklin Blvd. Firestone store has been a great success, but as you know is in bad need of repair. Due to limited space, remodeling was not possible. We hope this relocation will not be of any inconvenience to you, but an opportxinity for us to better serve yo\ir automotive needs. Our location at Dixie Village Shopping Center will remain open and will be strengthened with employees from the closed location. Second: Michael Blackburn is the manager of our new Eastridge Mall Auto Center. He was the manager of our E. Franklin store for five years before leaving last year to open a new Firestone store in Charlotte. Michael is very excited about returning to Gastonia and serving you. Owen Doster, the present manager of our E. Franklin store, will be going to Charlotte to manage our Albemarle Rd. location. Virginia Changing Needs To Meet Market Demands To All Employees: The continuing need to adjust to a changing world never ceases, and it has never been more true in the nearly 50 years that Firestone has operated here in Gastonia. These are difficult times and there isn’t a single one of us who hasn’t been touched by the things that are happening in our work place. However, if we are to be suc cessful, we must all pull together to ac complish our objective of producing a pro duct second to none in quality and at a cost which will allow us to compete in the marketplace. In truth, we cannot hope to survive if quality and cost objectives are not met. We are well into implementation of our modernization program; however, it will be another six months before everything is complete.
