Twenty-four Utex twisters on 2nd floor have been changed from a 14" stroke to a 12" stroke, this slwuld result in better running conditions with less bad work. Please give me your coraitents. QUAUTY ASSUHAHCE: We continue to have quality problems with the fabric we are purchasing from Uniroyal. As of now, we are ncA accepting any Uniroyal fabric but they are working to correct the problems and sliould be supplying to us again soon. This points out to us that Firestone has fabric quality standard.s that exceeL those of most of our competitors, and in most liead-to-head quality trials, we do very well. You can be proud of the material we ship to our customers. Oh, I’m not saying we are perfect. Oh, no! But, ve are gfxxl! We only need to get just a little better and we will be making 100% first quality material. As in nujst cases, tte last little bit of improvement is always the hardest. But, you can do it. Vou do it right the vast majority of the time. Please try a little liarder and get it right every time. Tte computer will control the .speed of the machine and the tension or stretch applied to the fabric during the treating process. We expect to try this system out in December and January. Future plans are to add Computerized Temperature Controls to the Treating Unit ovens in 1989. We have just completed the installation of the dip mixing facility for Bridgestone. This new equipment will automatically weigh out the proper amount of chemicals used in the dip mixing process. We intend to mix our first batch of dip in late November or eeurly December.
