QUALITY ASSURANCE CONTINUED
The most common location for a
problem is the edge. If you can see
the uniformity is wrong, do
something about it right then!
Also this month, I followed a test
roll of nylon fabric to Fidelity Tire
Company in Nachez, Mississippi.
This was a test roll to see if our
quality ws good enough for us to
become an "approved supplier” of tire
cord fabric. The trial was
successful, and we are an approved
supplier to Fidelity Tire. They do
want us want us to work on the slight
baggy condition they obseirved. The
roll had been rerolled after treating
and I suspect this caused the baggy
condition. We need to make whatever
effort is necesary to first prevent
the need for rerolling fabrics, and
when that fails we need to have it
exposed, unwrapped, for the shortest
possible time.

WEST END COMMENTS
By: Jeff Heavner
I would like to welcome three new
team members to the Industrial area:
SHEILA CUMMINGS, JUDY TESSENEER, and
LINDA NORWOOD.
The next four weeks will be very
busy. Those who have not attended
the Learning Center will be given the
opportunity. We will be going to a
four shift operation. The three new
looms at Kings Mountain will be
stazrted up. We will also be moving
three of our looms to the Kings
Mountain plant. All of this must be
accomplished with a minimum
disruption to the flow of fabric to
our customers.
Even though we have all of this
activity underway, our objective does
not change - QUALITY1
LEARNING CENTER
By: Walter Dodd
Since last month we have had two
groups of graduates to complete their
"Cell Training" at the Learning
Center.
Our remaining instructors, JIMMY
ADAMS, JOYCE HUMPHRIES, JACK BECK,
JEFF DUNCAN and BETTY NEAL have
adapted to our new set up of twisting
and weaving areas and are doing a
super job preparing candidates for
the new plant.
RECYCLE NEWS
On June 1 we shipped a total of
38,082 pounds of tubes and cardboard
to "Paper Stock". We have worked
very hard to accomplish this
milestone.
We want to thank DAVID WEBB, FRED
WALLACE, BILL MAYNARD and WILLIAM
HOLMES for a job well done. Thanks
also to DEFENDER COMPANY for
collecting, separating, and storing
the cardboard and paper products and
keeping cardboard out of our waste
dumpster.
