MOTHER OF THE MQI4TH. ('Erxh month some mother v;ith n, boy in the scrvice villl bo asked to v;rite & letter for this bulletin, tellirit^ hoiv it feels to be r.t home v;r.itin£’ for your letters and your return.) Dear "Boys in The Service VJhile I don’t feel at all competent to do this job as vjell as it should be done for you boys, I am enthusiastic about this bulletin and v;ant to do something to help it along - so here £oes! J Not manj'- of you boys know me personally'- since I h:ive been living here such a short time but I have a deep interest in each one of you. Every time I see a boy in uniform I v;ant to up and speak to him and tell him how proud all of us are of him, md I laiov; that every mother everjn/here feels the same v;ay. V/e have to sit at home and feel mighty useless and helpless, but if praying, wishing and hoping can do you any good, you ;;ill certsinly be the best soldiers in the world, accomplish your mission the quickest and be able to come bad: home to spend the rest of 3>^our days in peace and harmony. Those of us who lived during the other l/orld i7ar thought we vjere going to arrange that for you, but v;e stopped too soon, and now you arc suffering on account of our shortsightedness. We do not want you to make the s?jne mistalce this time, so keep in your minds that there is more to this thing of coming home thriii just being discharged from the army. It is your country in peace times the same as it is in vj;-r tiiiies, and, since you are fighting for the privilege of living in a free country, ^j-ou are the ones who should say how to keep it a free country when you get back. Maybe "Mother of The Month" should be giving other advice to you like "be careful not to g-ct your feet wet", "do not sit around in wet clothes", "bo careful what you eat and how much you drink", but since we’ve trusted Uncle Sam enough to turn you over to him for safe keeping, v;c’ll have to leave such details to him and say: VJE LOW YOU, GOD BLESS YOU, DO YOUR JOB '.'ELL AND HASTEI' Ha>iE, Yours for Victory,
