We are working and hoping for yovir speedy retxirn. •JC* NEl/S OF RECETIT BIDUCTSES Robey Brackett reported to Ccnp Croft August 12, and was accepted for service in the Navy. He is home now for the furlough alloted to new inductees and will report for active duty August 20. John Schenck,III, reported to Fort Bragg August 4, and was then transferred to Fort Benning, Ga., for further training. He has been made a Corporal and will take Officer Candidate Training. John graduated from State College June 10, and married on June U.Kis bride is the former Miss Betsy Hall Roberts of Shelby. Bill Southards was accepted in the Army Air Corps at Camp Croft, August 12, as technician. He will report at Fort Jackson, September 6, and from there will be sent to March Field, Pasadena, Cal., for technical training. Bill will go by plane to California. Don't you know he will enjoy that trip, as he is such an aviation enthusiast, 'tVe would like to offer our best wishes to these young men, and hope that they v;ill have a very successful career in the armed service, HONORABLE DISCHARGES George Boyles has been given a medical discharge from the Navy. He has now joined the Merchant Marine and v/ill report for service at an early date. Mrs. Sue McNeilly has been given a medical discharge from the WACS, and has resumed her former job with Cleveland Mill & Power Company. Herschel Herd has been given a medical discharge from the army. "Dib" will soon be back at his old job at the barber shop in Shelby, and ;ve know his many ex-customers will be glad to v;elcome him back, PROMJDTIONS H.R, Grayson of the Navy has been promoted to Aviation Ordnanceman First Class. Howard says in his letter to us that he is working like the dickens for the rating of Chief Ordnanceman, and here’s more power to you sailor — we know you’ll make it. Chaplain Bill Eaker has been promoted from Lieutenant to Captain. Vfe are very proud of you. Bill, and join your family in offering sincere congratulations, Dewey Canipe has been promoted from Private First Class to Corporal. Nice going, Dewey. Keep on adding to those stripes. Vfe know it won’t be long till you’re a Sergeant,
