"SALUTE OF THE MONTH"
We pay tribute this month to Mr. J. D. S. Carpenter, Dean of
the office of Cleveland Mill & Power Co. Mr. Carpenter, in point
of service, holds the record for Company employees, having been
in their service for 49 consecutive years—in fact, he holds several
records—as treasurer of New Bethel Church for the past 35 years
and Superintendent of the Sunday School for 18 years. Quite an
impressive record for one individual. Mr. Carpenter bears the
given name of "Schenck", having been named for the late Judge
John David Schnck and he has been as faithful and loyal to this
Company, as though his last name were Schenck, rather than the
first. His loyalty to any cause he serves is highly exemplary.
All Lawndale joins us in wishing for Mr. Carpenter, many
more years of Good Health, Good Fortune and Happiness.
