The winsome little Miss is Diane James, daughter of Private and Mrs,'David James, Private James is stationed at Camp Stewart, Ga., and v/e have an idea, that it will be a long time before he'll tire of this particular issue. She's a baby to be proud of and the Hoover Rail v;ishes to thank little Diane and her Mother for their , co-operation in bringing you this attractive front cover. It seenxs each month, as if we have some very fine letters to call to your particu lar attention, and this mont\i is no exception, ;ve feel honored in having with us in our Anniversary issue,Honorable Clyde R. Jerry Caldv/ell has been given an honorable discharge from the Army after serving a year, both in the States and overseas. Vfchaven't seen Jerry since his return, but we all want to v/elcome him back and also extend to him our heartfelt sympathy in the loss of his mother. Jerry, at the present time is staying with his brother. Tod, in Shelby. A grand brother-teara. IiOME-TQ'.VN BOY AVMED MEDAL , Pvt, Parker T. V/ray, sone of Mrs, Frank VJray, of Lawndale, Route #1, viho has be^* serving overseas for seven months has been awarded the purple Heart, the ArmJ'*s' medal for gallantry in action and given only to those who are wounded in battle, Parker is at home nov/ for a rest, after seeing action in Sicily, Italy, and Salerno, and has seen plenty of front line fighting. He was wounded in tlae legs by shropned jind in one hand by a German Machine Gun. Besides the Purple Heart, Parker wears a good conduct Ribbon and also a European Campaign Ribbon. Only one other Cleveland County boy has v;on the P\irple Heart, the late Hildred Canipe of Fallston. He was killed in action in Guadacanal, The Hoover Rail Staff and his mny friends in Lawndale, extend warmest congratu- Litions to Pvt, Parker T.Wray,
