As you Icnov;, when Eddie was stationed at Columbia,

VJhen he got a y;eek-end off and started home he just
happened to see a negro woinan, carrying a suitcase,
and followed right behind her and sure enough she
took him right to the bus station. Perhaps that isn't
such a bad idea for sone of you when you don’t Imovj the tovmj (

Piedmont still holds top honors in'v;inning basketball gririGS, The other night they
played Belwood and won both gariios. The girls played such a good game and beat Belv/ood
so bad that it wasn’t even iiiteresting. The boys also won but it was such a tight game
that we didn’t Imo?; that we had a scat because we were on our feet most of the time
yelling, screaming, and cussing. The game was plenty fast and furious. Ruth Anthony
is still a loyal fan for Piedmont .?jid if you doubt that one bit, you should have been
there and heard some of the things that she saidc
Most of you remember Llildrod Eaker on the team, don’t you? Well, it seems that
Vivian, her sister, is follov/ing right in her footsteps, when it comes down to play
ing real ball. You should have seen her las‘t Tuesday night when they played Shelby
All-Stars. That gal was really putting, them in. Jack Eskridge and Harvey Bowens were
really ".on" the other night up at Belv/ood cause they dropped the last tv;o in that
'brought us victory. We are planning on going "vjay back in the hills" Friday night and
play Casar and here'^s hoping those girls.vdll really win,'that game because their
former coach, iir„ Dodd, is Casar’s Coach this year, ’ ' ‘
So long until the next game comes .off and then we’ll be seeing you.. Our one
prayer is that everything is soon going to be all right and you vjill be here to
join in the fun with us.
