I’m sure you, the Staff c3f the Hoover Rail, receive lots of letters from the
local boy’s and, girls in'the service and maybe lots from guy’s like;'me, who could
hardly be called local bpys anymore, for I have been away fron Lawndi-JLe around six
teen years, I do receive a copy monthly of the Hoover Rail and even though I don’t
know many of the names-'which appear .in it, I still think it’s a grand thing to ljeep
everyone posted on the situation around home.
I’ve been in the Naval service for better than three, years now and have almost
two years in the Pacific on different Islands, ete',. '.” ^
I was. promoted to- the rate of Chief Pharmacist mate U, S. Navy - March 1^ '
One of the youngest Chief Petty Officers in the Navy for I haven’t reached my 21st
