Maybe it will be here soon, I sure hope so. After being on the front for awhile, I don't think any thing could cheer a fellow up more than the Hoover Rail, ’ I hear that lots of the boys from home are on the front, but as yet I haven't had the luck to run into any of them, I suppose we are in different armies, I am in the Third Amy \inder General Patton, and will be on the lookout for any of the home town boys, I am sending a swastika that was cut out of a flag, which I thought you would like to have. It would be nice to'see then, play a game, for all the girls I see are GeniAn, and we can’t spealc to them. It looks like I an lucky — During the Gernnan offensive in Belgium, I was captured by the Jerries, but thanks to the doughboys I didn’t stay a prisoner very long, 'I had a nice three day pass back to Brussels, Belgium, and did I have a good time,'three ni^^ts with a bed and white sheets, and believe mo there v;ere plenty of girls, .1- can’t speak very good French, but-1 had seme v6ry good sign language, Vifcll, thanks again for the Hoover Rail, and so long, Pfc, Johnie M, Ramsey Germany ■ti- it it -5:- it Dear Staff: I guess it is about time I was widting to thank you all for the grand little paper, I won't try to make any excuse for not v;riting sooner, I have just finished reading the February issue of the Hoover Rail and I enjoyed it more than ever, I have read a lot of letters the boys writo but I haven't seen any one from Lawndale since I have been over here in the Hawaiian Islands, tho’ I'll prob.ably see some frcm Lawndale soon, I cure do like the letters .the boys write to you to hc.ve published. After rambling'around here on the Islands, I haven’t found a single place to equal ole’ Lawndale, Tell the girls that write ’’Old Maids Row" they don’t have to worry about the soldiers in the South Pacific for we are lucky if we get close enouf^ to a girl to speak to her.
