Jim Cl>Dninger, son of Mr, and Mrs, Henry Cloninger has
been promoted to Sergeant, Jini is now serving in the Philli-
pines and recently had the opportunity to visit his brother*s
grave on Leyte, PFC, "Mossy” Cloninger was killed in action
on Leyte in October 1944.
First Lieutenant Frederick Maness was recently promoted
to that rank at the Arm;^ Air Base in Hc*^rlingea', Texas, Lt,
Maness is th*e only son of Mrs, John F, Schenck, Sr, - he is
now serving as an Instructor at Harlingen,
William R, Spurling has been promoted to Staff Sergeant,
Sgt, Spurling is the son of Mr, and Mrs, Frank Spurling and
recently spent a furlou^ with them and his wife. He is now-
^vaiting re-assignment after serving for sometime in the European
Pvt, Julius C, Devinney has been promoted to Private First Class,
brother of Mrs, Ophus Hunt, and is now stationed in England,
