Harold WARNER is now back in RIC and is to be complimented on the splendid job of assisting Don for better than two months at Lejeune„ FAYETTEVILLE: Joe GURGANUS, the one-man outfit holding forth at Fort Bragg, is right in their "pitching”. Thanks to Joe’s good work and the wholehearted cooperation of the trans portation office personnel, the number of Transportation Requests issued for air run like this; October - 17; November 15; December - 73; January 146. Joe started in December and is now just waiting for the 82nd Airborne and other personnel to return to Bragg from ex ercise in Texas. It is understood that some units will be returning the latter part of next month. Watch the business from Fayetteville start picking up then, with Joe doing a lot of the ticketing. NORFOLK: Now it is common knowledge that the fairer sex are endowed with a sixth sense - known as Intuition, This quality is rather rare in the male - However, it seems to be pos sessed by Art WHITTAKER, or perhaps in this case it should be classified as an ordinary sense - that of SMELL. Anyway, the other day while talking with Art I complimented his sta tion on the excellent manner in which they have handled and held together the loads on extra sections recently. His reply was: “Well, you know, we have a lot of walk-ups, and about the middle of the afternoon I can just begin “to smell the load and tell what’s coming”. Now, that is some powerful smelling. Congratulations, Art - Keep your feet dry! ^ ^ DAN did it again - with 0 no = shows for the month of February! CINCINNATI - T. R. Cowen CVG has been rather bereft of news until along came March 27. Then comes Queen For a Day, First they is and then they ain’t. They are to arrive via DAL 649 CHI and the next thing we see is they are arriving SDF via EAL 185 out of CHI. So we cancel on 52/4 to IMN and figure it was a re-route. But DAL gives us a call and requests two to IMN for Queen for a Day on 58-27. So we add to the WL, since we already have 21. Then DAL doesn’t know for sure if they are on board DAL 355. About this time Mr. MCGEE is growing bald in IMN and gives us a call. We can’t tell him much, except to say that possibly they are lost! At this time we are holding 2 on WL 58/27 and SDF is holding 2 on 6-27, SDF IMN. McGEE, IMN, SDF, CVG and INTR are in. a complete blackout. INTR then OK’s BIMN to give us 23 on 58 and we are glad of 24 passenger ships. But do they use it? Brother, this ain’t Piedmont’s day! We figure its quicker to send them on to LEX via DAL 355 and pick up 6 there. However, we do not cancel any space on 58-27 or 6-27 until we see them in person. At this point we are considering asking for Birth Certificates to be sure we get the right people, because with all that’s going on its conceivable Phillipine Airlines has two extra on board their flight LAX to HNL. At any rate, the last we see of them they are heading toward LEX and we hope there are no further complications. We also hope they enjoy their stay in IMN. The mix-up is not their doing ~ just a few misconnec- tions and reroutings.,. Phyllis SHIRLEY is leaving us April 10. It is with regret that we say So Long. She’s been a real credit to our Airline. Replacing her is Jim TEAGUE who comes to us after two years with AAL and a short stay with LCA, You may be sure we are fortunate in having an experienced man join us... Incidentally, E. J. WISNIESKI is taking off for Jamaica May 22 - along with him will go Bob HUDSON of CVG-F... Did we mention there would be no further complications for Queen For a Day -■ Just now comes a call that they lost their return tickets CVG-LAX in CHI, and they are to be forwarded tonight. That does it = we’re thru! - OVERHAUL HANGAR - INT - E. Groce We are glad to report that No. 9985 F, The Yadkin Valley Pacemaker, is now undergoing flight
